Bristol Sands
Bristol 10k - 2018 Bristol Sands Runners

Simplyhealth Great Bristol 10k 2019

On Sunday 5th May 2019 thousands of runners of all abilities will take to the streets of Bristol to complete the Bristol 10k. The route will take in some of Bristols most famous landmarks such as Brunels Suspension Bridge that spans the Avon Gorge.

Bristol Sands will be there in force again this year. At the 2018 Bristol 10k we had in excess of 40 runners take part in the event to raise money on behalf of Bristol Sands. We raised just under £10,000. This amazing amount has allowed us to create a memorial at Arnos Vale cemetery in Bristol in the stillbirth section.

This year Bristol Sands will again have a team of runners lacing up their trainers and pounding the streets of Bristol to raise money for this years special project - the refurbishment of a consultation room at the Early Pregnancy Unit at St Michaels Hospital. The room, will be used for difficult discussions and to give parents a quiet and comfortable space while making tough decisions or hearing that they have lost their baby.

We are looking to raise £5,500 to cover the costs of this work and which will include decoration costs, cover the furniture and decorative items needed to make this room feel less clinical and provide some refreshment facilities.
